CEP’s eGLYPH technology is proven to detect terrorist propaganda so that it can be removed from the Internet. Extremists are using the Internet every day to spread terrorist content and incite people to commit acts of violence. They radicalize and recruit new members with hate speech and graphic videos of beheadings and torture. CEP is calling on Internet—in particular social media—companies to immediately take action to stop the flow of this vile content by adopting eGLYPH.
Announced in June 2016, eGLYPH removes the “worst of the worst” images, video, and audio files quickly and accurately. In order to operationalize eGLYPH, CEP has also proposed the National Office for Reporting Extremism (NORex) as a non-partisan, expert clearinghouse to flag extremist content for removal. eGLYPH is ready to be deployed, and Internet companies must act now to stop extremists like ISIS from continuing to misuse their platforms.
Help us demand action from Internet companies. Please sign the petition and join the CEP community in calling on Internet companies to adopt eGLYPH and NORex immediately. Together, we can send a message to these companies that extremist content online cannot be tolerated.
