On January 25, 2022, militants attacked a Pakistani army post in Sibdan, in the Kech district, north of Gwadar port, killing 10 soldiers. The army said it killed one assailant and arrested three others. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack.

On January 18, 2020, a suicide car bomber targeted Somali police and Turkish construction workers having lunch in Afgoye, Lower Shabelle, 19 miles outside of Mogadishu. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, which killed four and injured 20 others.
