On June 9, 2020, suspected Boko Haram militants attacked Foduma Kolomaiya village in Nigeria’s Borno State, killing at least 81 people. Residents claimed the attack was in retaliation for villagers resisting an assault a few weeks prior.

On June 7, 2017, ISIS militants carried out simultaneous attacks on the Iranian Parliament building and the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini in Tehran. The first major terror attack in Iran since 2010 leaves 17 civilians dead and 43 wounded.
