On April 21, 2019, a series of explosions rocked three churches, three hotels, and two other locations across Sri Lanka, including the capital Colombo. The Easter Sunday attacks, claimed by ISIS, killed at least 253 people and injured more than 500 others.

On April 14 and 15, 2019, armed men destroyed two different girls’ schools outside of the provincial capital of Farah in Afghanistan. The attacks followed threats from local Taliban leaders and nearby graffiti read, “Long live the Islamic Emirate.”

On April 18, 2016, a bomb exploded on board a Jerusalem bus, wounding 21 people in an attack later claimed by Hamas. On April 20, a 19-year-old Palestinian man wounded in the explosion died from his wounds.
