Counter Extremism Project Releases Statement on News that San Bernardino Shooter Pledged Allegiance to ISIS

The Counter Extremism Project (CEP) released the following statement today from CEO Mark D. Wallace and President Frances F. Townsend in response to the attack in San Bernardino, California:

“Today’s news that one of the shooters in the San Bernardino attack that killed 14 innocent people pledged allegiance to ISIS in a Facebook posting demonstrates once again that the threat of ISIS and violent Islamist extremist ideology knows no borders. This horrific slaughter is further evidence that leaders around the world must reassess their current military, economic tools and social media strategies for combatting this global threat.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the victims of this attack.”
