On August 16, 2018, gunmen and suicide bombers attacked an intelligence services training facility in Kabul, wounding three. One bomber exploded while the other three were killed by Afghan security forces. ISIS claimed responsibility.

On August 13, 2017, suspected jihadists opened fire on a Turkish restaurant and hotel in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, killing 19 people and injuring 25 others. The assailants took hostages and were killed in an ensuing shootout.

On August 11, 2018, Egyptian police stopped a suicide bomber on a bridge outside the Coptic Virgin Mary Church in the Cairo suburb of Mostorod. The bomber detonated his device, killing himself, with no other casualties. There were no immediate claims of responsibility.

Fact:

On August 9, 2017, an assailant rammed a car into a group of French soldiers in Levallois-Perret, a Paris suburb, injuring six. The suspect, 36-year-old Algerian Hamou Benlatrèche, had reportedly been radicalized and showed interest in ISIS.
