On July 14, 2017, Abdel-Rahman Shaaban stabbed seven female tourists, three fatally, at two resort hotels on the Red Sea in Hurghada, Egypt. Shaaban had reportedly been in contact with ISIS online and was directed to attack foreigners on the Hurghada beaches.
