“Your questions answered!  Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas' top political leader, has been assassinated in Tehran, Iran. According to a Hamas statement, Haniyeh "died as a result of a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran," where he was attending the inauguration of Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian. Iran's paramilitary guard, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, confirmed Haniyeh had been targeted and killed at his residence in Tehran, along with his bodyguards. Earlier in April, an Israeli strike killed three of Haniyeh's sons in Gaza. Interview with CEP Senior Director Hans-Jakob Schindler.”

“Yehuda Fox was more than clear. In recent months, "nationalist crime has resurfaced under the guise of war," said the outgoing commander of the Central Command of the Israeli armed forces in his farewell speech last Monday. It has led to "chaos and fear among the Palestinian residents, who pose no threat." Some Israelis have adopted "the methods of the enemy."[…] "There is an extremely radical settler movement in Israel. Its supporters live in the West Bank and see this as a political-ideological act," says Hans-Jakob Schindler, senior director of the international Counter Extremism Project, to the Tagesspiegel. By constantly putting pressure on Palestinian communities in the immediate vicinity, the settlers tried to persuade the Palestinians to leave the West Bank, says Schindler. In doing so, they often set up so-called outposts, small settlements that are illegal even under Israeli law.”

CEP Senior Research Analyst Josh Lipowsky interviewed: "Mr. Lipowsky’s work focuses primarily on antisemitism and on Iran-backed terrorism, including terrorism committed by Hezbollah, Hamas, and militias in Iraq. He has seen a significant rise in antisemitism in the United States in recent months. “Since Hamas’s attack on October 7 and the resulting war, we have seen an explosion of antisemitism in this country related to protests surrounding the war,” he said. “A lot of these protests are, at their core, focusing more on hating Israel than helping the Palestinians. At its core, it is largely being driven by antisemitism.

"Israel's declared aim with the war is to eliminate Hamas and liberate the Israeli hostages held by militant groups. Both have yet to be achieved. But the Israeli military chief of staff says the structure of Hamas in the city of Rafah is nearly dismantled. Benjamin Netanyahu has signaled that the "intense phase" of Israel's military operations against Hamas in Gaza is drawing to a close. But the Israeli prime minister says fighting won't stop until the group no longer controls the Gaza Strip. DW asks Hans-Jakob Schindler, Director of the Counter Extremism Project in Berlin, how he views the progress of Israel’s war in Gaza."

Extremists: Their Words. Their Actions.

Fact:

On October 7, 2023, Hamas invaded southern Israel where, in the space of eight hours, hundreds of armed terrorists perpetrated mass crimes of brutality, rape, and torture against men, women and children. In the biggest attack on Jewish life in a single day since the Holocaust, 1,200 were killed, and 251 were taken hostage into Gaza—where 101 remain. One year on, antisemitic incidents have increased by record numbers.
