"Gaza – The deaths of others are apparently more bearable when you have air conditioning and room service. While the war in Israel continues to escalate following the atrocities committed by Hamas and civilians fear for their lives, the leadership of the terrorist organization resides far away in luxury hotels. 'Hamas' top leaders have been in Qatar for years. They are accommodated very comfortably there and are having a good time,' says terrorism expert Hans-Jakob Schindler from the Counter Extremism Project (CEP)."

CEP Senior Director Dr. Hans-Jakob Schindler on DW Deutsch

"The people in the Gaza Strip are still politically represented by Hamas, which rules there. But who are the leading figures of this militant Islamist organization, which is classified as a terrorist organization by the EU and others, and where do they live? A closer look shows that they are well connected globally and apparently live a much more luxurious life than the Palestinians.

We talk about the topic with Hans-Jakob Schindler. He is senior director at the Counter Terrorism Project, an organization that seeks answers to international terrorism."

"A recent press release from Counter Extremism Project (CEP) CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace and CEP president Frances F. Townsend calls on 'all lobbying and public relations firms to cease working with or representing the Government of Qatar until it detains the Hamas leadership responsible for the October 7 massacre in Israel and remands them into U.S., Israeli, or appropriate third party-custody.' They add that 'Qatar is complicit in the harboring of Hamas leadership, the promotion of their terrorism activities, and the proliferation of their vile antisemitism.'"

"'CEP strongly supports the Trust But Verify Act. Qatar has long played both arsonist and firefighter, harboring and funding terrorists responsible for the deaths of Americans and Israelis and the captivity of many more. The U.S. must force Qatar to choose between being an American ally or a partner of terrorists. We thank Congressman Ogles for sponsoring this bill and urge Congress to pass it.' - Counter Extremism Project."

"The New York- and Berlin-based Counter Extremism Project cites Iran as the chief backer of Hamas, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria, the Houthis in Yemen, as well as other militant groups across the Middle East, a reflection of the regime’s regional ambitions. The thinktank has launched a global boycott of Qatar, saying it funnels hundreds of millions of dollars annually to Hamas, and provides safe haven for its leaders."

"Palestinian civilians are cowering on the border with Egypt, fearing for their lives, while Hamas is hiding in its tunnels under the Gaza Strip - at least its military wing. The terrorist group's political arm is doing even better: Hamas's leadership is not hiding underground, but abroad. The Hamas leadership seems to particularly like Qatari luxury hotels. Not cheap fun, says Hans-Jakob Schindler from the Counter Extremism Project (CEP). 'Of course the gentlemen have to pay rent,' he says in the 'Again Something Learned” podcast from ntv.de. "Qatar is not a cheap country and they don't live on the poverty line.'"

CEP Senior Director Dr. Hans-Jakob Schindler said: "Hamas over the years has made sure that it has several overlapping income streams, so that if you pressure one of them, it can substitute it with others. So the biggest pots really are, until about the beginning of October, anything that went on in Gaza. So any economic activity, but also taxes and levies on any aid money that came into Gaza, this is unfortunately a sad truth. Secondly, strategically, Qatar. $30 million per month was the official sum they admitted, very likely much more than that. In part from the Qatari government, but also Qatari donors directly into the Hams coffers. Iran has already been mentioned, material support within weapons, arms, ammunitions, trainings, but also money. And then we have the investment portfolio. Unfortunately, Hamas is not yet classified by a terrorist organization in many countries of the world..."

Extremists: Their Words. Their Actions.

Fact:

On October 7, 2023, Hamas invaded southern Israel where, in the space of eight hours, hundreds of armed terrorists perpetrated mass crimes of brutality, rape, and torture against men, women and children. In the biggest attack on Jewish life in a single day since the Holocaust, 1,200 were killed, and 251 were taken hostage into Gaza—where 101 remain. One year on, antisemitic incidents have increased by record numbers.
